After finishing my blanket-to-wear, otherwise known as a faux fur coat, my husband decided he wanted one as well. After all, winters can be f… cold here. Still traumatized from fighting the faux-fur-wars with my sewing machine, I did a lot of complaining about all

I wanted a warm coat for winter, but with the fake fur inside to make it less pretentious. Outer fabric is wool with a hint of cashmere (Anita Pavani, again), lining made of Black Softee faux fur from fauxthrow.com (in the UK). Cut adapted from

I think I deserve a medal for being so damn housewively – I made my husband a coat! Outer material heavy black Loden fabric, lining black viscose fabric (both from Anita Pavani – I’m nothing if not consistent with my shopping habits).

As you can see, I do sometimes (ok rarely) sew something other than coats. Mostly dresses because I refuse to sew stuff that I can buy for a few Euros at H&M (honestly, just not worth the effort). I will only resort to sewing if

Made from heavy Loden fabric from Anita Pavani; cut adjusted from original princess coat pattern (see Alpaka coat).
